Guide
Start a group chat with friends, no account needed
Want to chat or call with a few friends without everyone making an account first? On Omadle you can start a group chat in a couple of taps and send your friends a link. They open it, pick a name and they're in: no email, no password, no app to install. It's free and works in your browser.
How to start a group chat with friends
- On the homepage, pick a name, then tap the With friends button (the link icon) beside Start chatting. Already in the lobby? Tap Start a chat with friends above your conversations.
- Your invite link appears, ready to send: copy it, or tap Share link where your device offers it.
- Tap Open group chat and wait for your friends there.
Already in a group? Tap Manage members, then Invite link, to get a link for that group.
Sending a link or a code
Send the link anywhere you like: a text message, a social app or an email. Every link comes with a short code, such as K7QM4-XPA2R. If a place won't let you send a link, share the code instead: your friends enter it at omadle.com/join, or tap Join a group chat under Start chatting on the homepage.
What your friends see
The link opens a page that says who invited them and to which group chat, and how many people are in it. They pick a name, confirm they're 18 or older, and they're in the group right away, as a guest. No account is needed, but anyone can sign in with Google instead to save their conversations across devices. Someone already signed in to Omadle just taps Join group chat.
Anyone who didn't give their age when they joined is asked for it before they can read the group's messages or join a call. New members see the conversation from the moment they joined.
Chatting and calling together
It's a full group chat: messages, emojis, photos, dice rolls and the AI assistant. Anyone in the group can start a call or join one, with video if they like, and share their screen on a computer. See the audio calls and video calls guides for how calls work.
Limits: five people, 24-hour links
- A group chat holds up to five people, including you.
- A link works for 24 hours, while you're in the group and it has room.
- Creating a new link turns the old one off, and any member can turn off any link.
- Everyone must be 18 or older.
Staying in control
Anyone you've been in a group chat with can call you (call requests still follow "Allow call requests" in Edit profile), send you photos and links, and send you a friend request, until one of you blocks the other. A link never lets in someone who has blocked a member of the group, or whom a member has blocked. If a link ends up somewhere it shouldn't, any member can turn it off under Manage members, and any member can remove someone from the group. For more, see our guides to group chats and staying safe.
