Getting the most out of the AI assistant
Every one-on-one and group chat on Omadle has an optional AI assistant you can bring into the conversation. It isn't a separate chatbot you message privately. It's a shared participant both people in the conversation can see, question, and read the answer from together.
What can I ask it?
Four quick prompts cover the most common uses: summarize the conversation so far, suggest a topic when things go quiet, help break the ice with a fresh opener, or settle a debate the two of you are having. You aren't limited to those four presets; typing any free-form question works too.
What does it see, and what doesn't it see?
It reads the recent message history of the specific conversation it's asked in, including who said what, so its answer stays grounded in what you two have been talking about rather than defaulting to generic small talk. It does not see your other conversations, your profile beyond what you've said in this chat, or anything happening in the lobby, and it never sees shared photos or profile photos.
Can I ask about one specific message instead of the whole chat?
Yes. Hover over any message (or press and hold it on a phone) and use the Describe action to ask about that message specifically, useful for a message you're not sure how to read rather than the conversation as a whole.
Does the other person see what I asked?
Yes, the question and the answer both appear inline in the chat for both participants, the same as any other message. It's a shared tool for the conversation, not a private assistant only one side can see or use.
Is there a limit on how often I can use it?
Yes, a per-user hourly limit keeps the assistant responsive for everyone. If you hit it, you'll see a clear message rather than a silent failure, and it resets automatically an hour later.
Does it work the same way in group chats?
Identically to one-on-one. Any member of the group can ask, and the question plus the answer are visible to everyone in it, not just the person who asked.
Pair it with the built-in icebreakers when a conversation stalls. The Suggest a topic prompt and a fresh icebreaker question solve the same problem from two angles, and it's worth trying both before assuming the conversation has run its course. If you're chatting in a group, the assistant is often the fastest way to get everyone back on the same page after a long thread nobody's fully read.
