Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Omadle ("we" or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and services ("the Service"). By using Omadle, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Service:

  • Account information: When you register using your Google account, we receive your email address and Google account identifier from Google. You choose your own username.
  • Profile information: You provide your age, which you must confirm before you can chat or make calls. You may optionally provide your gender and city, and change the country and region we detect for you (see Location information below). If you signed in with Google, you may also choose a profile photo from Google Photos; we keep only the square you crop, as our own copy without the details embedded in the original. Guest accounts do not require an email address.
  • Messages: Chat messages are stored to deliver them to conversation participants. Messages are private between participants but may be subject to automated systems designed to detect policy violations, and may also be reviewed if reported by another user.
  • Calls: When you make, receive or join a call, your audio, and your video or shared screen if you turn them on, is carried through Omadle's servers and network to the other people in the call. We keep basic call details: who took part, when the call started and ended, and how long it lasted. A call request or a group call also appears as a message in your conversation.
  • Shared photos: When you share a photo from Google Photos (if you signed in with Google and choose to) or from Google Drive, we fetch it from Google, make our own copy without the details embedded in it (such as location and camera information), and show that copy to the people in the conversation for 24 hours. We keep a reference to the original photo with the message, like the message itself; the people you chat with never see it. With Google Photos, Google gives us one-time access to the photo you pick, which we use only to fetch it and which ends once it's fetched. Shared photos may be reviewed if reported by another user.
  • Microphone, camera and screen: We use your microphone, camera or screen only while you are in a call and choose to use them, and only after your browser has asked for your permission. Others' video reaches you blurred until you choose to view it. You can withdraw these permissions at any time in your browser's settings.
  • AI assistant: When someone in a conversation asks the AI assistant a question, recent messages and sender names from that conversation are used to answer it. Shared photos and profile photos are never given to the AI assistant.
  • Usage data: If you agree to analytics cookies, we collect anonymous analytics about how you use the Service, such as pages visited, features used, and general device information (browser type, screen size, operating system).
  • Technical data: We may collect certain technical information such as connection data and device information for security and operational purposes.
  • Device fingerprint: To help us detect and prevent fraudulent accounts and spam, we generate a technical identifier from your browser and device characteristics when you create an account. This identifier does not reveal your identity and is not used for advertising.
  • Location information: Your country is detected automatically from your connection for matching and for display on your profile; where available, your region (such as a state or province) is detected too. You can change your country, or set it to Other, when you sign up or later in your profile. Your region and city are shown on your profile and used to list people near you first in the lobby, unless you turn off "Show my region and city". We do not track your precise location or GPS coordinates.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Match you with other users for conversations
  • Communicate with you about your account or service changes
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and maintain a safe environment
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve user experience

4. How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • With other users: Your username is visible to users you chat with. Other profile details you provide (such as country or age) may also be visible during conversations and in the lobby. A profile photo is shown only to users who have confirmed their age; others see your initials. In a call, the other people in it see the same profile details as in a chat.
  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to help operate the platform (such as cloud hosting, network delivery and security (Cloudflare), storage, email delivery, and analytics). When you share a photo or choose a profile photo, we request it from Google Photos or Google Drive, and our copy is kept by our storage provider. These providers are bound by their own privacy obligations and may only use your data to provide services on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

5. How we handle Google user data

When you sign in with Google or share a photo from Google Photos or Google Drive, we receive only what that feature needs: your email address and Google account identifier for sign-in (including when you confirm it's you before deleting your account), and the photos you choose to share or use as your profile photo.

  • Use: We use this data only to provide the features you request, such as signing you in, showing your profile photo, and showing shared photos in your conversations.
  • No advertising or sale: We never use Google user data for advertising, never sell it, and never share it with advertising or analytics partners.
  • No AI training: We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, and we do not share it with anyone for that purpose.
  • People: No one at Omadle reads this data except with your permission, when it is needed for security or to investigate abuse (for example, content another user reports), or when the law requires it.
  • Retention: Shared photos are deleted 24 hours after they were last sent. Your profile photo is kept until you replace it, ask us to remove it, or don't use Omadle for 30 days. If you delete your account, your profile photo is no longer shown to anyone and is deleted 30 days after you last used Omadle. Your sign-in details are kept while your account is active, and afterward as described in "Data retention and deletion" below.

Omadle's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service. Some are strictly necessary (such as keeping you signed in and protecting against bots) and are always active. Others (analytics and advertising) are only set if you agree to them. You can accept, reject, or change your choice at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer of this page.

If you consent to analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. This may collect data such as your browser type, device type, pages visited, and general region. This information is not used to identify you personally.

7. Advertising

To keep Omadle free, we may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks such as Google AdSense. These partners only use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads if you have consented to advertising cookies via the Cookie preferences link in the footer. You can withdraw this consent at any time, or opt out of personalized advertising more broadly through your browser settings or by visiting optout.networkadvertising.org.

8. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account information and messages for as long as your account is active. A registered account that hasn't been used for 12 months may be deleted, together with its messages. Registered users can delete their account at any time in Edit profile. When you delete your account, your profile and messages are no longer shown to anyone and your username becomes available to others; we keep a limited record of the account and its activity, such as its email address, for up to a year for safety, fraud prevention, and legal reasons, and then delete it. A guest account is deleted when the guest signs out, or automatically after a period of inactivity, and guests can also ask for deletion through our contact page. Call details (who took part, when, and for how long) are kept for as long as needed to operate the Service and keep it safe. Our copy of a shared photo is deleted 24 hours after it was last sent; the reference to the original photo is kept with its message for as long as the message. Your profile photo is kept until you replace it, ask us to remove it, or don't use Omadle for 30 days, after which your avatar goes back to your initials; choosing a different avatar keeps the photo so you can switch back. If you delete your account, your profile photo is no longer shown to anyone and is deleted 30 days after you last used Omadle. We may also remove a profile photo to enforce our Terms.

9. Children's privacy

Omadle is intended for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we become aware that a user under 18 has accessed the Service, we will take steps to remove their account and any associated data.

10. International users

Omadle is available to users worldwide. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in a country different from your own. We take appropriate measures to protect your information regardless of where it is processed.

11. Security

We protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access limited to authorized personnel. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We encourage you to not share your sign-in credentials with anyone.

12. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent where applicable

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If we change how we use data received from Google, we will notify you before the change takes effect and ask for your consent where required. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

14. Contact us

If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us.
